Thanks for joining us here in Ogunquit! We’re excited to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. From driving directions to dining recommendations, you can ask any staff member for a hand, any time. Here’s some basic info to help you get the most out of your Ogunquit vacation. You might want to bookmark this page.
The Office
- Our office is open daily 7am – 11pm.
- For after-hour help or emergencies, please dial x191 from your guestroom phone for the manager’s residence.
- If you wish to share any comments or concerns with us or if you have questions you can email us any time at Owners@dunesonthewaterfront.com. We promise to listen and respond.

Linen Exchange
- Cottages (units with kitchens)
- To ensure your privacy, the housekeeping staff will not service the cottage during your stay. Cottage guests can exchange linens daily, and have daily trash pick-up and firewood delivered as needed.
- Linen Exchange: Linens can be exchanged daily between 9:30 am and 10 am at the hotel laundry room located directly behind the office building. If necessary, for exchange at other times please contact the front desk.
- Trash Pickup: Trash will be picked up daily between 9 am – 10 am. Any trash that you would like removed should be securely bagged and placed on top of the firewood box or directly outside your kitchen door just before collection time. We recycle clean paper, bottles, and cans; these should be placed in the blue recycle bin provided and put out with the trash each day. If needed an additional pick-up can be arranged by calling the front desk.
- Firewood: Firewood will be replenished during your stay as needed. Please practice good fire safety. We ask that you do not light a fire the morning of your departure as the fireplace will need to be cleaned for the incoming guests.
- Check-out time: 10:00 AM
- To ensure your privacy, the housekeeping staff will not service the cottage during your stay. Cottage guests can exchange linens daily, and have daily trash pick-up and firewood delivered as needed.
- Guest Rooms
- Our guest rooms will be serviced by our housekeeping staff every third day during your stay.
- Towels and Trash: If you desire clean towels or additional amenities other than when your unit is serviced, please call the front desk, “dial 0” between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Use extra bags stored in your trash container to bag up your dirty towels and leave them just outside your door. Our staff will come by during the morning and deliver the towels requested and pick up dirty ones. Trash can be placed outside your door at the same time and will be picked up by our maintenance staff.
- Check-out time: 11:00 AM
- Our guest rooms will be serviced by our housekeeping staff every third day during your stay.
Our Swimming Pool
- The pool is open from 9am till dusk each day (mid-May to mid-September).
- Towels are available at the pool. Please leave them in the container provided after your use.
- Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
River Crossing
- We have five row boats that guests can use on a first-come-first-served basis to cross the tidal river.
- The daily tide dictates the time each day that the boats will be available for use, and this is posted in the office each morning.
- Sign up at the front desk to pick up a key, life jackets and oars. We do not take advanced reservations for the boats.
- You can cross the tidal river at low tide by walking directly across. There is a ramp to the river’s edge at the boat dock.

- Are prohibited on the property of The Dunes and by the town of Ogunquit.

There is so much to see and do in Ogunquit along with the South Coast of Maine – check out our Explore Ogunquit blog category for lots of great places to see, activities to experience and all our local information. If you discover something new, let us know and we’ll add it to our website!
- Marginal Way: A one-mile stroll along the water’s edge from Shore Road to Perkins Cove. Don’t forget your camera — you’ll see lots of birds, great views of the rocky coast and Ogunquit Beach. We recommend picking up lunch from Village Food Market to have a picnic on your walk. There are many places to drop a blanket or sit on a bench to enjoy the wondrous views.

- The Greenery Café (Katie’s favorite) Breakfast, Lunch and take out available. Very easy walk and parking is available.
- Ogunquit Lobster Pound (Everyone’s Favorite) Easy walk. Great experience — pick your lobster and they will cook it and bring it to your table.
- Jonathan’s Ogunquit (Staff favorite) Easy location if you are heading to a show at the playhouse. Great food with Farm to table options daily.
- Frankie & Johnny’s (Owner’s favorite) A great place for a natural experience. Cash only. -Located just south of the Ogunquit town line — you’ll need to drive. They are a seasonal operation. Please call in advance for reservations.
- Fisherman’s Catch Wells (Katie’s & Tammie’s favorite) Lobster in the rough — paper towels above your head and the menu has something for everyone. Short drive — Route 1 north to Harbor Road in Wells.
- Merriland Farms (Guest favorite) A quaint setting overlooking a small country golf course. Great menu for breakfast and lunch.
