The Fine Print: Rates and Policies
About our Accommodations
All spaces at The Dunes –– from our guest rooms to our cottage suites and every one and two bedroom cottage in between –– are maintained to the highest degree for your comfort and pleasure. That being said, we are a traditional cottage resort with lots of personality and history, and this means that our rooms and buildings aren’t uniform. The special quirks and different aspects of each of our accommodations is another reason our guests cherish us. However, it’s important that you know exactly what you’re getting as a prospective guest. If you have a question about what does or does not come with your cottage, guest room, or suite, please do not hesitate to ask. We’re happy to talk about our resort down to the very last detail.

Minimum Stay Requirements
All cottages require a minimum stay of at least three nights depending on the season. From Mid June Mid September, all cottages must be rented by the week with stays beginning and ending on Saturday. During the months of July and August, two-bedroom cottages require a minimum stay of two weeks with stays beginning and ending on Saturday.
Rates by Occupancy
Rates by Occupancy Two-bedroom cottage rates are based on four-person occupancy. Rates for one-bedroom cottages, cottage suites, and all guest rooms are based on two-person occupancy. If and when space allows, each person above that number will be charged $20 per night. For those with young children, pack and play cribs, cots, and highchairs are available upon request at no additional charge.
Deposits
In order to guarantee your accommodations, a two-night deposit per every week booked is required. If staying less than seven nights, only a one night deposit is required. You must provide your deposit no later than 10 days after your reservation is made.
The balance of your reservation is due in full upon arrival — please note that all rates are subject to the Maine lodging tax which is subject to change. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted. Unfortunately, we cannot accept personal checks for the payment of your balance.
Cancellations & Reservation Changes
Deposits are refunded if you cancel or change your reservation 21 days before your check-in date. If you notify us later than that, your deposit will be forfeited. You are responsible for the entire length of your reservation. There are no refunds on late arrivals or early departures.
Smoking
All accommodations at The Dunes are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside of cottages on The Dunes grounds and common lawn.
Pets
There is a fee of $35 per night per dog. We only allow dogs at this time. There is a maximum of two (2) dogs allowed per unit. Several rooms are designated dog friendly. Please inquire upon making your reservation. Dog(s) must be declared at the time of reservation. Please provide us with your dog’s name and special identifiable markings on Sign-In sheet at arrival. Dog(s) should never be left unattended in your room at any time. (If your dog(s) are well behaved and quiet you may leave them for a short time to enjoy dinner only but they must be crated). Dog(s) must always be kept on leash outside of your unit (no tethers will be allowed). Dog(s) will not be allowed in public areas such as (pool, office or dock area). Please feed your dog(s) on tiled floor rather than on carpet or wood to minimize any spillage or staining while eating and drinking. If your dog(s) bark frequently, other guests may be disturbed, so please take steps to comfort and positively reward your pooch for not barking. Guests may be asked to leave if their dog excessively barks and disturbs other guests (refunds for your stay will not be given). Please wipe off muddy or wet paws before you enter your unit (we will provide pet towels as requested); please do not use bath or pool towels. Please no baths in tubs or showers (there are outdoor showers to wash your pet off if they enjoyed a day at the beach). We will provide a blanket or dog bed upon request to eliminate dog(s) on beds and furniture. If in a guestroom, please contact the front desk to arrange for housekeeping service as our housekeepers do not want to frighten or scare your pooch. Room will not be serviced if we do not hear from you. Bio-Degradable waste bags will be available at the front desk to pick up after your dog. If any damage occurs to your unit as a result of your pet’s behavior any repair and or cleaning will be billed to your account.
While in Ogunquit please note the following restrictions: Dogs are not permitted on the beach from April 1st to September 8th. Marginal Way restrictions are April 1st to September 30th. The front desk will have a list of places where dogs are allowed during your visit. Dogs are not permitted in the Ogunquit River Estuary at any time.
Rabies Certificates are required at arrival.
